Gary Phillips
From the owner:
History
In 1993, I opened a plumbing company to specialize in custom homes. As the company grew I realized that our
builders and home owners needed more. They were tired of picking out products that just “looked pretty” from
someone who had never actually installed them. They had questions about how things worked, and they wanted someone
they could trust to sell them good quality products. Realizing this need, I decided to open a decorative plumbing
and door hardware showroom for our customers. In 2003 we opened our sister company; Splash Galleries, Inc. Now our
customers had a place where we could help them “Turn on their imagination”.
A few years later, we made the decision to grow our efforts and go national with www.kitchenandbathfixtures.com .
Only we were doing it differently. We decided to hold our ground on the items we offered. We did not want to offer every
plumbing product available, just the ones we knew were of excellent quality.
Why we do it:
I am a 3rd generation plumber so I knew at a very young age what my career path would be. I was raised to give my best at
everything I did. I refused to become the stereo-typical butt crack, cigar smoking plumber as we are so often referred to.
With God by my side, the love of my wife of 21 years and my three daughters and family, I had the support needed to pursue my
dream. I love what I do, and I have been blessed with a group of great employees who share my vision. Without all these
people, my dream would not be possible. I thank you all.
Why should you trust us?
We actively install all the brands you will see on our website. We will not sell any items that we would not install ourselves,
even if it means losing a sale. Unlike most showrooms and distributors, our salespeople make no commission off any item they
sell. Therefore, our sales staff is not driven by product profitability, they are doing what they do best; helping people
make informed purchases of good quality plumbing and door hardware products.
All we ask:
Is that you allow us the opportunity to serve you. We do our very best to be competitive, but in some cases we may be higher
priced. As I mentioned earlier, we are more than a company that just takes orders. Our goal is to help customers that may be
struggling trying to put everything together so it will work properly.
If you are building new or remodeling, I would encourage you to give us an opportunity to help.
Thank you,
Gary R. Phillips (Owner)

I started learning Locksmithing while I was in high school, I learned the basics, cutting keys and rekeying locks.
From there I moved on to a job at a large Pharmaceutical company as the inhouse locksmith. I learned a lot more about
the trade during my time there. It wasn't until I went to work for one of the largest Locksmith's on the east coast
that I expanded my skills as a full service Locksmith. While there my work ranged from commercial, residential and
automotive. I also did a lot with electronic access systems, safes and vaults. Although I loved the challenges that the
job presented, my favorite part was working with homeowners. I started working here in 2001 and have enjoyed being part
of growing the business. I enjoy working with and sharing my product and technical knowledge with our customers. I
personally oversee all product brands that we sell locally and refuse to sell any item that we do not feel is a quality
made product.
When I am not serving our customers needs, I enjoy spending time with my wife of 20 years and
our two kids.
Thank you,

Originally from Columbia, South Carolina, I am a graduate of Winthrop University with a BS degree in Dietetics.
I moved to North Carolina for my first job in Food Service Management/Clinical Nutrition with Marriott Corporation. I
worked for Marriott in Food Service Management for 12 years, managing various commercial kitchens including Duke South's
Production Kitchen. Prior to leaving Duke, I held a Dietician Clinician Position on the General Medicine Service. After
a 10 year absence from the work force, I returned to work and started here in 2005. Working here has provided me the
opportunity to explore a new aspect of kitchen design, function and usage. My background in commercial kitchens has allowed
me to help customers choose and invest in quality kitchen fixtures that will service their needs for many years.
I have been married to my husband Darryl for 22 years and am the mother of two. We have a daughter Emily who is a junior
at ECU majoring in Early Elementary Education and a son Alan who works in our shipping and receiving department here at
Kitchen and Bath Fixtures.

Since 1993 my career has revolved around the plumbing world. I started out as a part time
secretary for a respected plumber in Nashville T.N., where I moved to from my home state of NJ.
My original business experience was in mold injection, which Nashville had no call for. Being
employed there taught me many things: to always look up, to persevere, to open my mind to new
things and to be the best customer service person I could be.
I left there many years later with a new respect for plumbers, designers and all the hard work that
goes into making someone’s dream home come alive! While employed there, my boss and
mentor taught me the ropes. I was trusted with handling the day to day business from top to
bottom. I consulted with builders and homeowners on fixture selections, scheduling and
purchasing. I learned to help design a bathroom or kitchen around a clients taste and budget. I
then moved on to be a full time showroom consultant with another company who worked with a
broader clientele and my experience flourished. The builders I worked with admired my honesty
and the fact that I would not sell products I didn’t believe in just to make a sale.
Years later, when I made the decision to move to NC to be closer to family, I was drawn to
Raleigh Plumbing. Even before my move, I remember having a long conversation with Gary
Phillips. He was a pleasant gentleman and keen business man. I remember thinking, “That is
where I belong”! His business and customer service sense is impeccable and honestly he
reminded me of my dear old friend and first employer in TN. I have been blessed by working here
since May 2006 and really enjoy working with so many wonderful people. We are like a family
here and I believe it shows in our customer service and how we treat our customers.
I am also blessed to have a wonderfully supportive husband, and fantastically awesome
son. I couldn’t ask for more!

I graduated from East Carolina in 2006 and since then I have been in the showroom business. I fell in love with people making
selections for their homes. There is nothing like seeing a project come together. I like knowing that I can make it easy and
painless for the customer. It makes me feel very rewarded at the end of the day. I have worked in other plumbing showrooms
and none havecared about the quality of the products being sold, as long as we were moving merchandise. It is not that way
at Kitchen and Bath Fixtures and I love that about the company. We put together complete plumbing packageswith quality products.
We work closely with plumbers and we have to make sure that they have all of the parts and pieces for them to make the job
complete in the field. It may be something as small as a shower drain in the finish that matches the faucets or an extension
kit for the faucet or soap dispenser in the kitchen. I believe that the experience ot working so closely with the plumbers
gives us an edge that other companies do not have. We have had to learn more abut how things are instlled and how they work together.
We don't sell anything that we would not install in our own homes. We also try to deal with companies that stand behind their products.
Thank you,
Nikki Gambella (Plumbing sales)
